Your transformation journey is deeply personal. This policy explains exactly what data SubliminalOS collects, how it is used, and the rights you have over your information — written plainly, not in legalese.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated as you use the app, and limited technical data required to operate our services. We collect only what is necessary.
Account information
- Email address (used to create and identify your account)
- Display name or username (optional, chosen by you)
- Profile photo (optional, chosen by you)
- Authentication tokens (managed securely; we do not store plain-text passwords)
Audio & listening data
- Audio files you voluntarily upload to the app (subliminal tracks, affirmations, custom recordings)
- Listening session logs: track name, session start/end time, duration, and playback completion
- Cumulative listening time per track and per day
- Listening streaks and habit frequency data
- Playback preferences (volume, loop settings, playback speed)
Progress & ritual data
- Ritual logs: rituals created, scheduled times, completion status, and streak counts
- Progress evidence images you choose to upload (used solely for your personal journaling feature)
- Affirmations, intentions, and journal entries you write within the app
- Goal milestones you set and track
Device & technical data
- Device type, operating system version, and app version (for compatibility and debugging)
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics (automatically collected via third-party crash reporting)
- Push notification token (if you enable notifications)
- Time zone (for scheduling reminders correctly)
Payment data
All payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive, store, or have access to your full card number or bank details. We receive only a subscription status confirmation.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve the SubliminalOS app and services
- To personalise your experience — displaying your own listening history, streaks, and rituals
- To send you reminders and notifications you have opted into
- To process and manage your subscription status
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- To diagnose crashes and fix bugs using aggregated, anonymised diagnostic data
- To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, sell your information to third parties, or train AI/ML models on your personal content without your explicit consent.
3. Audio Data & Listening Habits
Because SubliminalOS is an audio-centric app, we want to be especially transparent about how your audio and listening data is handled.
Audio files you upload
When you upload an audio file, it is stored on our secure cloud servers associated with your account. Your uploaded audio files are private by default — they are never shared with other users or made publicly accessible. You can delete any uploaded file at any time from within the app, which permanently removes it from our servers within 30 days.
Listening session tracking
We log your listening sessions (start time, duration, track played) to power your streak calendar, progress charts, and personalised insights. This data is linked to your account and is never sold or shared in identifiable form. Aggregated, anonymised data (e.g., "users who listen for 20+ min/day have higher streak retention") may be used to improve app recommendations.
Microphone access
SubliminalOS may request microphone access only if you use the in-app recording feature to create your own affirmations or voice journals. Microphone access is never active in the background and is used exclusively during an active recording session initiated by you.
4. User-Uploaded Content
Progress evidence images
You may upload photos as "proof" entries to document your personal transformation (e.g., before/after snapshots, milestone photos). These images are stored privately in your account and are never visible to other users. We do not use these images for any purpose other than displaying them back to you within the app.
Storage & access
All uploaded files (audio and images) are stored on encrypted cloud servers. Access is restricted to your authenticated session. Our support staff may access files only when required to resolve a specific support request you initiate, and only with your permission.
Deleting your uploads
You can delete individual uploads at any time within the app. Deletion removes the file from active storage immediately; it may take up to 30 days to be purged from backup systems.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers
We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate the app. These providers are contractually bound to process your data only on our behalf:
- Cloud storage (for audio files and images)
- Authentication services
- Crash analytics and performance monitoring (anonymised data only)
- Push notification delivery
- Payment processing (via App Store / Google Play — we do not share payment details)
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid court order, subpoena, or government request.
Business transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred. We will notify you via email or an in-app notice before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your account, listening history, rituals, and journal entries are permanently deleted within 30 days
- Uploaded audio files and images are permanently deleted within 30 days
- Anonymised, aggregated analytics data (not linked to you) may be retained indefinitely
- Billing records required for legal compliance may be retained for up to 7 years
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access & portability
You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, in a structured, machine-readable format.
Correction
You can update your account information directly in the app Settings at any time.
Deletion ("Right to be forgotten")
You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account), or by emailing privacy@subliminalos.app.
Opt-out of communications
You can disable push notifications at any time from your device settings or within the app. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
California residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@subliminalos.app.
EEA / UK residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing your data is contract performance (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention).
8. Security
We take the security of your data seriously. Our measures include:
- All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Uploaded files are stored with server-side encryption at rest
- Authentication uses industry-standard secure token practices
- We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure
- Access to user data by our team is role-restricted and audit-logged

9. Children's Privacy
SubliminalOS is rated for users aged 12 and older on the Google Play Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at privacy@subliminalos.app and we will promptly delete that information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending an in-app notification or email. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of SubliminalOS after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
